ChefsCabinet Terms of Service

Version 1.0 — Effective July 11, 2026

Welcome to ChefsCabinet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("ChefsCabinet," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of the ChefsCabinet website, mobile apps, and related services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By checking the box during registration and creating an account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Choose a strong password and keep it secret. Notify us promptly at [SUPPORT EMAIL] if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account.

4. The Service

ChefsCabinet helps you save, organize, import, scale, and plan recipes; build shopping lists; create meal plans; and share content with people and households you choose. We may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also set limits on the Service (for example, storage or usage limits), and some features may be offered only to premium members.

5. Your Content

"Your Content" means the recipes, photos, notes, meal plans, shopping lists, and other material you create, upload, or import into the Service. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant ChefsCabinet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for example, to resize images or format text), process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and to the people and households you share it with. This license ends when you delete Your Content or close your account, except for reasonable backup copies retained for a limited period and content that others have separately saved or that must be retained by law.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the rights necessary to upload and share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or violate any law.

6. Importing and Third-Party Content

The Service lets you import recipes from URLs, photos, and text. Recipes and other material found on third-party websites may be protected by copyright or other rights owned by others. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and use that material, and for complying with the terms of any site you import from. ChefsCabinet does not claim ownership of third-party content and is not responsible for its accuracy.

7. AI-Assisted Features

Some features use automated and AI systems — for example, extracting a recipe from a photo or web page, suggesting variations, or categorizing shopping items. These features can make mistakes and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected results. Always use your own judgment, especially for anything affecting health, allergies, dietary restrictions, or food safety. AI-generated output is provided for convenience only and is not professional, nutritional, or medical advice. Do not submit content that is unlawful or that you are not permitted to share.

8. Sharing

When you share a recipe, collection, or meal plan with another user, a household, or via a public link, you are choosing to make that content available to those recipients. Public links may be viewable by anyone who has the link until the link expires or you revoke it. You are responsible for what you choose to share and with whom.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service in violation of any law or these Terms;
  • upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, harmful, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with or disrupt the Service;
  • probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or circumvent any security or access controls, except as expressly authorized by us in writing;
  • upload malware, or submit content or instructions intended to attack, manipulate, or extract data from our systems or AI providers;
  • scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content or data except through features we provide; or
  • resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including its software, design, branding, and content we provide (but excluding Your Content and third-party content) — is owned by ChefsCabinet and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

11. Premium Memberships and Payments

Certain features may require a paid premium membership. Pricing, billing terms, and any applicable refund policy will be presented to you at the time of purchase. If and when paid subscriptions are offered, additional payment terms may apply and will form part of these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that content (including imported recipes, nutritional information, or AI output) will be accurate or complete. You use the Service at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChefsCabinet and its owners, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChefsCabinet from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

15. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the version and effective date above and may ask you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. Your continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be subject to the courts located in [JURISDICTION], unless applicable law requires otherwise.
